APPLICATIONS

Type W Portable Power Cable is suitable for use in Industrial and light-to-medium mining applications, heavy-duty service and temporary as power supply cables. Motor, battery and generator leads. It is also used for mobile and portable electrical equipment.

CONSTRUCTION

• CONDUCTORS:

Tin coated or bare, soft drawn, annealed, flexible, stranded copper per ASTM B-172.

• INSULATION:

 Ethylene Polypropylene Rubber (EPR) insulation colored (5C:black, white ,green ,red, orange;

4C: black, white , green , red)

• CABLING:

Five conductor Type W, are assembled in a round configuration with a woven nylon polyester binder served over the entire cable assembly for added core stability.

• JACKET:

 Heavy-duty, flame resistant thermosetting Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE).

 Jacket colored(black)

APPLICATION:

Type W is for use in heavy duty power systems as power supply cable such as: AC systems (grounded and ungrounded); mobile and portable electrical equipment; motor and battery leads. 4 conductor constructions are for three phase systems with one conductor being used as a ground. 5 conductor constructions are for three phase systems where one conductor is used as a neutral and one conductor being used as a ground, Type W is for applications up to 2000 volts and temperatures from -40°C to +90°C. 

CONDUCTORS: • Flexible strand soft drawn tin coated copper conductor • Green conductor for grounding conductor purpose only

SEPARATOR: • Tape separator between conductor and insulation

INSULATION: • Ethylene-Propylene Rubber (EPR)

REINFORCEMENT: • Single faced rubber filled binder tape applied over core
