Application

Aluminum URD cable is designed for use in secondary distribution circuits, where installed in duct or direct burial applications. Maximum operating temperature is not to exceed 90°C in wet and dry locations. Voltage rating is 600V,5KV,15KV,35KV. As an option, this cable can be provided pre-pulled into duct.

Conductors

Aluminum URD cable has a concentric strand or compressed 1350-H19 series aluminum conductor. Conductors are cabled together, with surface printing for identification. The neutral conductor has a yellow stripe or full yellow jacket.

Insulation

Aluminum URD cable has a black cross linked polyethylene (XLP) insulation,TR-XLPE,or EPR.

•Use and installation

Triplex type RHH or RHW-2 or USE-2 is primarily used for secondary distribution and underground service at 600 volts or less, either direct burial or in ducts. May also be used in conduit as specified by the NEC.

•Specification

(UL) Standard 44 for Type RHH or RHW-2, (UL) Standard 854 for Type USE-2 ICEA S-105-692 for cross-linked polyethylene insulated conductors, ASTM B-800 8000 Series Aluminum Alloy Wire for Electrical Purposes – Annealed and Intermediate Tempers. ASTM B-801 Concentric Lay Stranded Conductors of 8000 Series Alloy for Subsequent Covering or Insulation.

•Structure

• Triplex Type RHH or RHW-2 or USE-2 Secondary UD is constructed with 8000 Series Aluminum Alloy Conductors.
• Cross-linked polyethylene insulation (XLPE) abrasion, impact and sunlight resistant.
• Insulation is extruded lead-free cross-linked polyethylene, the two phase conductors are black, and the neutral conductor is black identified by three longitudinal white extruded stripes, all insulation materials are RoHS,
Directive 2002/95/EC compliant.
• Sequential foot markings for easier inventory control management.
