1. Applications

The ACS (Aluminium Clad Steel) is widely used in overhead conductor ACSR/AW, grounding conductors, and optical fiber ground wire ( OPGW ).
The ACS (Aluminium Clad Steel) rods are installed as an alternative to the traditional galvanized steel ground wires for the protection of overhead power lines from lightning, as they are more evolved and have longer durability.
2. Construction
It is composed of bare, hard-drawn, round, aluminum-clad steel wire. Conductivity 14%, 20.3%, 23%, 27%, 30%, 35%, and 40% IACS.
3. Standards
IEC-1232, EN-61.232 and ASTM-B-415.
