1 Description of aac cable 
Bare concentric-lay-stranded aluminium wires constructed with a straight round central aluminum wire surrounded by one or more layers of helically laid aluminium wires. 
The most commonly used stranding consists of 7, 19, 37, 61,91,and 127 wires.(as below structure diagram:)

In all constructions, the successive layers shall have opposite directions of lay, the outermost layer being right-handed.
2 Application of aac cable  
Used in overhead electric power transmission and distribution lines with various grade voltages.
The most favoured overhead bare homogeneous conductors for primary and secondary distribution lines with relatively short spans where high mechanical strength is not required.
3 Manufacturing Standards of aac cable  
GB/T 1179-2008, IEC 61089, EN 50182, DIN 48201 Part 5, BS 215 Part 1, ASTM B231 or as required.

The Aluminum conductor shall be manufactured to BS 215. Shall be concentrically stranded,with successive layers in opposite lay, but such that the outermost layer shall be in the right hand spiral(Z).

The  wires in each layer shall be evenly and closely stranded. the complete conductor and its layers shall be firm and solid. the lay ratio shall not exceed 13.

In conductor having multiple layers of wires. the lay ratio of any layer shall be not greater than the lay ratio of the layer immediately beneath it. No grease shall be applied to the conductor.

PVC covered conductor according to BS6485

The material ,construction and physical properties of the conductor shall,after covering, conform to BS215
