AAC-All Aluminum Conductor AS/NZS 1531 Overview

The stranded All Aluminium Conductor (AAC) are made up of concentric-lay-stranded aluminum wires only.The conductor may be made up of 7, 19, 37, 61 or more wires in 1, 2, 3, 4 or more layers around a central wire. Each successive layer shall have six more wires than the layer immediately beneath. For a gien cross-sectional area, the conductor becomes more flexible as the number of wires is increased (with a corresponding decrease in size of each wire).

AAC-All Aluminum Conductor AS/NZS 1531 Construction

AAC-All Aluminum Conductor AS/NZS 1531 can be used in low and medium voltage overhead lines.It is a concentric-lay-stranded conductor consisting of aluminum 1350-H19 wires. It available in both single-layer and multi-layer constructions.

Full hard drawn temper wires are used with the wires stranded in each successive layer having an opposite direction of lay, the outermost layer being right-handed.
