Reasons for link fitting cracked:

Corrosion crack is the most early happened. Stress corrosion and hydrogen embrittlement are mostly occurred in the surface. According to materials of link fittings,the corrosion type can be various. If it is carbon steel material,the corrosion will be homogeneous corrosion and pitting corrosion.the homogeneous corrosion is transformed from pitting corrosion. If it is nodular cast iron material,the corrosion will be erosion corrosion.Moreover,the corrosion of link fittings will be various in different environment,of which the industrial environment is the most harmful and the second is the sea environment and agriculture environment.

Stress corrosion won’t be found for its concealment and caused of corrosion environment and stress function.the oxide corrosion will be more likely occurred in acid rain, moisture and other climatic conditions.Once the pull force has problems,the stress corrosion will happen. Brittle crack is the most obvious feature of stress corrosion and the crack area will be radial pattern under the corrosion.
