1. Applications
This specification describes single conductor polyvinylchloride (PVC) insulated, 600-volt dual-rated type TW/THW. It is intended for the ground wire and other general-purpose power wiring. It is suitable for lighting and power in residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

THW wire- Indicates a single conductor having flame-retardant, moisture, and heat-resistant thermoplastic insulation. THW cable and wires are used generally in building wiring, feeder and branch circuits, and internal secondary industrial distribution.

TW wire- Indicates a single conductor having flame-retardant, moisture-resistant thermoplastic insulation.TW cable and wires are used generally in building wiring, feeder and branch circuits, and internal secondary industrial distribution.

2. Construction
The single copper conductors shall be solid or stranded annealed or hard uncoated copper.
The conductor shall be insulated with PVC as specified and applied tightly to the conductor in a concentric manner.
