1. Description
ACAR Conductor, Aluminum Conductor Aluminium Alloy Reinforced.
(ACAR) is an excellent conductor choice where current carrying capacity, higher strength and a lower conductor weight are critical to the line design.

2. Construction:
The alumium conductor alloy reinforced(ACAR) has concentrically stranded aluminum 1350-H19 wire around a 6201-T81 aluminum alloy core. Typically, the 6201-T81 is the conductor core, but in certain designs, the 1350 H19 and the 6201-T81 wires may be stranded in the same layer.

3. Features
The high strength to weight ratio provided by the 6201-T81 alloy makes ACAR conductors a preferred choice for transmission and distribution projects where:
Conductor with more strength than AAC is required;
Conductor with high current capability is preferred over ACSR or AAAC;
Conductor with lower weight than ACSR is desired;
Conductor with higher corrosion resistance than ACSR is essential.
