Applications Used as overhead ground wire or static wire on transmission lines, as pole or structure guy wires, and as messenger cable for field-erected aerial cable.

Specifications SURAL steel strand meets or exceeds the following ASTM specifications:

A-363 Zinc-Coated (Galvanized) Steel Overhead Ground
Wire Strand
A-475 Zinc-Coated Steel Wire Strand

Construction Concentrically stranded galvanized steel strand. Available in classes "A", "B" and "C" galvanizing, "A" being the least heavy and "C" being the most heavy. Available in five grades of strength: Common, Siemens-Martin, high-strength, utilities, and extra-high-strength. Manufactured without welds per ASTM A-363 or with welds per ASTM A-475. Strands are formed to remain substantially in place when severed.
