ACSR Conductor:
ACSR is a composite concentric-lay-stranded conductor. Galvanized steel or strands form the central core of the conductor, around which is stranded one or more layers of EC Grade Aluminum wires. The steel core may consist of a single strand or a concentric stranded cable of 7, 19, 37, or more wires. Numerous combinations of aluminum and steel strands and layers are possible.

Application
It is applied for large span overhead transmission and distribution lines or overhead ground wire of lines. Temperature for continuous use can be up to 75º C.
Note:
(1) Resistance is calculated using ASTM standard increments of stranding and metal conductivity of 61.2% IACS for EC (1350) and 8% IACS for steel. AC (60Hz) resistance includes current dependent hysteresis loss factor for 1 and 3 layer constructions.
(2) Current ratings are based on 75oC conductor temperature, 25oC ambient, 2ft/s wind, 96/watts/sq. Ft sun, 0.5 coefficients of emissivity and absorption.
