 STANDARD

Type AC Cable meets or exceeds the requirements of UL Standard 4 for Armored Cable, UL Standard 83, and the National Electrical Code.

APPLICATIONS

• Branch, feeder and service power distribution in commercial, industrial, institutional, and multi-residential buildings.

• Power, lighting, control, and signal circuits.

• Dry locations only.

• Fished or embedded in plaster.

• Concealed or exposed installations.

• Environmental air-handling spaces per NEC 300.22 (C).

• Installation in cable tray and approved raceways.

• Under raised floors for information technology equipment conductors and cables per NEC 645.5(D) & 645.5(D)(2).

CONSTRUCTION

Conductor: 

Solid soft drawn copper.

Insulation: 

Thermoplastic high heat resistant nylon coated (THHN) / Thermoplastic high water resistant nylon coated (THWN). Each conductor is individually wrapped in a fibrous covering.

Bonding Conductor: 

One 16 AWG. aluminum conductor in intimate contact with armour along its entirety.

Ground: One solid soft drawn green insulated copper conductor individually wrapped in a fibrous covering.

Armor:

Aluminum interlocked armor with helically patterned green stripe or Galvanized Steel Interlocking Armor .

Color Coding:

Standard low and high voltage colors available (see part numbers and description page for actual colors and options.
